Savor three exquisite teas during your guided tea exploration journey where you can unleash all your sensory nodes to experience what each tea has to offer. Each tea has been selected not only to showcase the exceptional craftsmanship, fragrance and taste but also for the unique stories behind them.

The Tea Tasting & Brewing Experience is ideal for anyone who enjoys a delicious cuppa and want to learn more about the art and science of tea. Whether you have little experience or a connoisseur, our journey into exquisite teas would stimulate not just your senses but also your mind, leaving you with greater appreciation for this centuries-old tradition.”

Cecilia | Fabulous Tea Tasting and Brewing Experiences and amazing Food Tours of the highest calibre by her team of expert guides on offer from Hong Kong Foodie Tours in Hong Kong

Simply click on the buttons above and you will be transported to the Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Website and the Pekoe and Petals Tea Tasting Experience websites

Cecilia - gosh, she really knows how to offer her foodie tours and in the past 2 years or so has branched out into doing Tea Tasting and Brewing Experiences.

First up some information about the Pekoe and Petals Tea Tasting and Brewing Experience.

As I have mentioned below I am not a tea drinker (ever) so I was surprised to get sucked into a conversation about attending Cecilia’s Tea Tasting Experience as I have no particular interest in learning about tea, what can I say, I am really glad that I put my tea prejudice to one side and with 5 of my Private Tour Guide friends we attended a tea session so to speak.

I have published some pictures above of the setting.

I have to say I found the whole experience to be totally fascinating and expanded my knowledge of the history of tea by a gazillion % and this was basically down to Cecilia who is so passionate about her tea and her knowledge is second to none and even though I was just observing I could not help but ask a load of questions.

I have always been a little guilty at offending many of my friends and family (and restaurant staff) with my refusal to accept tea and that will never change, I am too old and stubborn to change my ways and that is that!

Hong Kong has some very good Tea Tasting outlets (which are very, very expensive) and these are retail outlets so you might get a minute or two’s explanation of tea from a waiter but Cecilia’s experience is on a completely different level, she is a real people person and a real tea expert.

I would absolutely recommend the experience which lasts about 90 minutes, hopefully you can find the time to fit in a tea session with Cecilia.

…. and not forgetting that Cecilia offers some of the very best food tours in Hong Kong and has being doing so for almost as long as I have been doing Private Tours of Hong Kong.

Cecilia has been a core member of our Private Tour Guide group for a long time and her company has really cemented itself as offering some of the best food tours in Hong Kong.

I have had conversations with all my friends about why I never offered food tours, there has always been a world wide consensus in the industry that you have to be a true local or native of that city and | or country to have the expertise to offer food tours - I see the logic of that position and have never had a problem with it but then I should point out that in a way I am an expert in Hong Kong food, I have eaten (at last count) at around 1,300 - 1,500 (ish) Chinese Restaurants in Hong Kong since 1972, (having lived here for 53 years) half of my wife’s family are Hong Kong Chinese and I have a fairly good grasp of what is what food wise.

I choose not to do food tours in Hong Kong primarily for health reasons but when I do tours, many times we will eat in local restaurant’s for snacks, lunch or dinner and I realised that my expertise was Hong Kong and not specifically knowing the in’s and out’s of the local cuisine, I just could not for see myself doing food tours and as they say, best leave it to the experts!

I should point out that I do have one major barrier to being an expert foodie guide, I absolutely hate tea, any tea, I have never had a cup of tea in my entire life (and yes, I am English) a few sips once when I was a kid but that was that, never again! as you probably know the Chinese take their tea culture very seriously, it is a true art form and how could I talk about tea when I have never had it!! (and yes, I am a very unfussy coffee drinker) - Chinese Food and Chinese Tea are joined at the hip!

I have always advised my friends to stress the importance of doing food tours with “a local”. like I said I have no issue with that.

Cecilia and her team of passionate expert guides (which includes her sister Silvana) have really nailed it and I have always recommend them to my guests when I do my private tours of Hong Kong, many of my guests would do 2 or even 3 tours whilst in Hong Kong with one of them being a very specific food tour and now they can add a wonderful Tea Tasting and Brewing experience.

Please do have a look at the Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tours and the Pekoe and Petals websites, browse their Instagram site as well and then book a tour or two with them! oh .. and you will just love Cecilia.
