Our story
Vive Hong Kong was born in 2015 after an inspiring 10,000 kilometers trip around China by its director Lorena Fernández Chaves. This adventure was key to discover how sharing experiences with locals makes a trip become an enriching life experience.
This inspired her to replicate that feeling in every person that visits Hong Kong, offering tourist experiences in order to create a cultural bridge between east and west, eliminating cultural barriers and bringing people closer to each other.”

This is what I wrote about Lorena in my previous blog post, since then her website has been amended and upgraded she is making quite a name for herself serving Spanish and Portuguese speaking guests as there are not that many options in Hong Kong.
I have met Lorena a number of times and I always love her passion for what she does, to be honest Vive Hong Kong does not have much competition when it comes to offering tours in Spanish and Portuguese but Lorena is not one of those people who rest on their laurels and simply go through the motions, she has real passion and is always trying to improve her offerings, I just love that about her.
Lorena is from Uruguay - operating in Hong Kong since 2015 and she has built quite a reputation for herself, offering tours in 3 languages (Spanish, Portuguese and English is a huge thing), I first had contact with her in June 2015 and will never forget the meal we had with her husband (a renowned chef!) cooking an amazing meal in a very fancy restaurant.
Lorena has been a member of our Private Tour Guide group for a long time and her company has really grown and is offering some of the best tours in Hong Kong. Lorena took some time off recently to become a Mum (again!) but with Hong Kong getting back to normal after Covid 19 Lorena is back and raring to go.
Vive Hong Kong Tours has served well over 4,000 + guests and quite a number of her guests end up going to Macau with her, Macau was a Portuguese Colony and Portuguese is an official language, there are not many Portuguese speaking tour guides in Hong Kong!
When I was doing tours I always suggested to Spanish speaking guests (ie Spanish being their native language) to do the tour with Vive Hong Kong Tours, to me it just made sense.
Lorena has also proved to be very popular with Cruise Ship Passengers given that a lot of them speak Spanish and Portuguese… I should point out that Lorena is more than happy to do the tour in English!
oh… and did I mention she is such a lovely young lady!
