Hong Kong Foodie Tours - Tea Tasting Experience
Amazing Tea Tasting and Brewing Experience with Cecelia
I hate Tea.
Yes, that’s right, I can’t stand it, I have had one sip of English Tea and one sip of Chinese Tea in 63 years and it is just not for me, I am a coffee drinker and that is that.
…and yes, I have been ridiculed all my life for this anti social behaviour with the must common indignant comment being - “but, but your English” - and??
It is simply my personal preference and I should point out that the wife and kids all drink tea, lot’s of it.
The Tea Culture in Hong Kong is very strong particularly in Dim Sum Restaurants and we have loads of Tea Houses and well, I have eaten at well over 1,250 Chinese Restaurants here and I must have offended many thousands of people over the years by refusing to drink tea.
I do not drink alcohol either, ever and my view is that this is my personal preference so please do not force me to drink something I simply do not like, I would never force anyone to do that no matter how culturally important it is to conform, I am never quite sure why people get so offended, I have principles and that is that.
I digress.
I am a cultural oddity so instead let us concentrate on visitors who come to Hong Kong and are excited to learn about Hong Kong’s Chinese Food and Tea Culture.
There are not many Tour Operators that have a specific Tea Tasting Experience, hundreds offer Chinese food tours (I never did by the way but that is another story) but not Tea Tasting Experiences and I find that odd given that Chinese Food and Chinese Tea go hand in hand and is ingrained in thousands of years of Chinese Culture.
I have over the years visited Tea Shops with guests who were specifically interested in purchasing Chinese Tea and some of the prices being asked were mind boggling….. naturally it was only a matter of time before a specific tea tasting experience was dreamed up that would appeal to everyone.
My great friend Cecelia owner of Hong Kong Food Tours is a bit of an authority on Chinese Tea and she offers quite an amazing Tea Tasting and Brewing Experience with a time frame that will fit into most visitors schedules.
I urge you to contact Cecelia, see links below.
